1 Purpose
These Terms of Use and Sale ("Terms") govern access to and use of the BoltCore software-as-a-service platform ("BoltCore", "the Service"), published by Aurélien Dasquié (sole proprietorship, registration in progress). BoltCore provides calculation tools for bolted joint margin-of-safety verification, based on an analytical methodology inspired by the ECSS-E-ST-32-19C standard.
By creating an account or using BoltCore, the user ("you", "the User") accepts these Terms in full. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2 Definitions
- Service: the BoltCore web application, accessible at boltcore-engineering.com, including its Free and Pro tiers.
- User: any natural or legal person creating an account or using the Service.
- Subscription: the paid Pro plan giving access to the full feature set described on the pricing page.
- Content: any data, parameter, or file entered or generated by the User through the Service (calculation inputs, PDF reports, saved configurations).
3 Access to the Service & Account
Access to certain features requires creating an account with a valid email address. The User is responsible for the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activity occurring under their account. The User must notify contact@boltcore-engineering.com promptly of any unauthorized use of their account.
BoltCore may suspend or terminate an account in case of a breach of these Terms, fraudulent use, or non-payment, subject to reasonable prior notice where feasible.
4 Description of Plans
BoltCore is offered under several plans, as described on the pricing page:
- Free: limited access (diameters M6/M8, classes 8.8/10.9, tightening margin calculation only), no account required.
- Pro (€49/month): full access to all diameters, classes, materials, safety margins, thermal analysis, and PDF export. Includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers; the User may cancel at any time before the trial ends at no charge.
- Enterprise: custom offer for teams and organizations, quoted on request.
Features and pricing may evolve; the User will be informed of any material change to a plan they are subscribed to.
5 Pricing & Payment
The Pro Subscription is billed monthly in advance via our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, the User authorizes recurring charges to the payment method provided, until cancellation.
The User may cancel their Subscription at any time from their account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no partial refund is issued for the remainder of the period unless required by applicable law.
Prices are shown exclusive of any applicable taxes, which will be added where required.
6 Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with EU consumer protection rules, individual consumers ordinarily benefit from a 14-day right of withdrawal on distance contracts. However, by beginning to use the Service (including the Pro trial) before the end of this period, the User expressly requests immediate performance and acknowledges that the right of withdrawal is lost once the Service has been fully performed or once use has begun with the User's express prior consent.
Professional Users acting for the purposes of their trade, business, or profession are not covered by consumer withdrawal rights under applicable law.
7 Engineering Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
BoltCore is a calculation aid, not a substitute for professional engineering judgment. The methodology implemented is inspired by the ECSS-E-ST-32-19C standard but BoltCore is not certified, endorsed, or approved by ECSS or any standardization, certification, or regulatory body. Results are provided for information and engineering support purposes only.
It is the sole responsibility of the User — as a qualified engineer or under the supervision of one — to verify the relevance of input assumptions, review calculation outputs, and validate the final engineering justification before use in any design, certification, or safety-critical context. BoltCore, its publisher, and its team accept no liability for damages, losses, certification failures, or safety incidents arising from reliance on the Service's outputs without independent professional verification.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BoltCore's total liability for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount paid by the User for the Subscription during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
8 Intellectual Property
The Service, its software, interface, design, and underlying methodology implementation are the exclusive property of Aurélien Dasquié and are protected by intellectual property law. No provision of these Terms grants the User any ownership right over the Service itself.
The User retains ownership of the Content (input data, generated reports) they create using the Service. The User grants BoltCore a limited license to process this Content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.
9 Personal Data
BoltCore processes personal data (account email, name, billing information via Stripe) in accordance with applicable data protection law, including the GDPR. Details on data collection, purpose, retention, and User rights are provided in our Privacy Policy.
Payment data is processed directly by Stripe and is not stored on BoltCore's servers.
10 Modification of Terms
BoltCore may amend these Terms at any time to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, or business practices. The User will be informed of material changes by email or via a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after such notice constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
11 Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties will seek an amicable resolution before referring the matter to the competent courts, in accordance with applicable procedural rules — including, where the User is a consumer, the mandatory protections and venue rules of their place of residence.
